*ONENESS*

As I lay down to observe the origins of my true self
Touching the earth and letting the dust run through my fingers
Spreading away in the wind
Like a huge sandglass in that we are all trapped.
I simply cannot leave this world behind,
This world that doesn’t let me be
But I can see how step by step,
The world has given up on me.

Flashbacks are peeping through my head,
Though I’m alone I feel the whole world surrounding me
Speaking all at a time
Incomprehensible words, incomprehensible tones,
I tried to find you in that endless crowd…
And what seemed to be a run in vain,
I pervaded the crowd in just the snap of two fingers…
You weren’t there…
When it came to me:
It was Saturday night…you had a life.

As the light grows dimmer and dimmer
And as I wipe the sweat off my forehead
With my tanned forearm,
I realize that what I feel
And what I have to face
Is either chimerical or hallucinatory,
For what I’m facing is a mirage
And no matter how much I try to reach you
Sometimes a dream is nothing but a dream.

The sunflower’s but a name
For something that can no longer be prevailed
No matter what the name is and significance…
Neither rain nor snow
Can quench my thirst or cool me down…
Not even my memories
Have the ring of truth about it,
Not even the images that I’ve build inside my mind
Along the years,
Images of your incomparable face,
Can’t resemble to how I see you now: happy!

Why do we call it chemistry?
Why not math?
Cause all I do is count the seconds till I see you…
I tried to find the logic of giving up on us,
But everything’s just pointless
My limit cannot define continuity anymore…

Why chemistry and not literature?
Cause everything we lived
Seemed like it has been ripped out
Of a romance novel,
That never got to be finished…

Why chemistry and not geography?
Cause you know darn well
I’d run
And crawl
And swim thousands of rivers,
I’d walk the highest mountains
If I would know that you will be waiting…
at the end of the rainbow...

Why chemistry and not sports?
Cause every time I see you
My heart beats faster by the second,
You’re my motivation,
My composure, my inspiration,
You’re the influence that pats me on the back,
Whispers in my ear, sends away my sorrow
And makes today count
As if there’s no tomorrow…

Why chemistry you ask?
In chemistry resides one’s mystery,
In your perfume resides my past,
Only fools can drown
By swimming in the pool
Of their own illusions…
They will all go down eventually…
And no matter how much courage
Is needed in the running
It all comes down to just pure luck…
They call it chemistry because it joins together…

We call it history, cause that is what we have right now,
That is what I am to you…
